ROCKMITE - ANTENNA DIPPER - ANTENNA TUNER - KEYER AND PADDLES

RockMite for 20m
This is my RockMite. A very nice little rig available as a kit. At the photos you can see my additional board which houses an 700Hz filter and an audio amplifier with high frequency cutoff(>1000Hz). I have also put a two color led which shows in which of the two frequencies of the RockMite I am operating. You can also see that I am using two 14.060 MHz crystals as a receiver filter to cutdown more off-frequency input.

Antenna Dipper
This is my Antenna dipper. It's a combination of two designs I have found on the net. It's an antenna dipper which shows SWR (with a led) at a given frequency. The design is from KD1JV. I have also put a QRP frequency counter with only one 7-segment led display. The design is from PA2OHH. The four switches and trimmers are for selecting the band to operate. The final calibration is done with the tune trimmer. When your antenna resonates the SWR led will go out, that's your antenna's resonant frequency. I have used it on antennas and also on coaxial cables to find their true lambda/2 dimensions.

Antenna Tuner

This my QRP antenna tuner. I bought it as a kit from the American QRP club. It's a very low priced kit and it handles up to 10 watts of power, but the nominal rating is 5 watts. It is designed for balanced lines but with a simple mod it can tune coaxial feedlines too. It can handle high SWR with no problems. It has a little drawback, it cannot tune effectively when the SWR are low, like 1.5:1, but then who needs it.

Keyer and paddles

This is my keyer and paddles I have build it to learn how to operate iambic CW.
I had some extra keyer chips for my RockMite and I have constructed this device which works really well. The paddles are made from pieces of PCB soldered together and etched at the fingertips and contacts. I have found this from the New Jersey QRP club.
