Window Maker docked apps on Kde Motivated by MS Windows Vista Gadgets I put some in Kde. Kde has an intergrated Dock Applications Bar to "host" WindowMaker dockapps. Here we have Matrix, Rolex, Earth time, Moon phase, Sun rise-set times, resources reporting tool and a puzzle. The dockapp bar does not support transparency yet. Xnest and Window Maker on X and Kde Running X on X with Xnest. The real X environment runs Kde, the nested one runs Window Maker, xterm and Window Maker docked apps.
Kde Karamba Widgets Another set of widgets in Kde 3.5.9 using Superkaramba. Features do not stop at what we see here. Weather, News, Mail notification and even a taskbar can be set on the desktop.

Kde 4 intergrades the widget feature in its new "Plasma" workspace. Screenshots are now in the Modern Desktops page.
