questions.

1) How can sound be transparent just like
graphics?
I have already described my setup in the SysMe page.
In the small Pentium I usually run the X Server, an
xterm
without a window manager. Then I telnet to other
machines
call an xterm from there to my local X and run a
desktop.
This is useful, because the small computer runs just
the graphics,
and the rest runs in a stronger processor. But sound
events stay
in the remote machine.
2) Trouble with a friends case with an internal
modem (Not winmodem).
The system does not detect its internal serial port.
Setserial does not detect any modems.
In my computer this works fine:
setserial /dev/ttyS1
/dev/ttyS1, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x02f8, IRQ: 3
as well as in his, for the known com1 & com2
ports.
But for the rest ttyS* the report is:
/dev/ttyS2, UART: unknown,
Port: 0x03e8, IRQ: 4
/dev/ttyS3, UART: unknown, Port: 0x02e8, IRQ: 3
Two examples.
And the rest:
UART: unknown, Port:
0xffffffff, IRQ: 0
