Explanations in English about conserning the contents of my site

Main Menu My Articles Site Services Web Tools Web Cards

Dear friends that you are visiting my site,

After many messages I received from all you English - spoken visitors I have decided to update my site in English so that it would be easier for you to navigate in it. I have translated in English the first page MENU for more convenience. This doesn't change its functionality just its color.

My site's contents:

Using the Site Services there is a link named "Translation " and through this page you can have the site translated in English or German NEW and now in Chinese, in Russian, in Spanish, in Greek etc. This translation is being done by a robot program so it is not quite perfect, something for which I would like to ask your understanding, but still it makes it easy for the visitors to understand the structure of the site and navigate through it easily.
Besides this, there are many references and subjects that you can actually understand without the knowledge of a specific language. Like the e-cards I created for the Olympic Games. These cards contain really impressive effects and you can easily use them as attachments to your e-mail.

In order to access these e-cards you have to access the WEB Cards Menu. In the same spot there is an announcement of The British Committee for the restitution of the Parthenon Marbles (concerning the return of the Parthenon Marbles back to their country of origin) and I call on every one willing to sign it.

From the Main Menu you can also see the Panoramic Visits. The first trip is a really impressive double slide show of the Mount Athos treasures, which I made after having the authorization of the Macedonian Heritage site. If you don't understand the text I wrote in French, just clicking on the thumbnails is enough for the beginning of your journey.

From the same page I hardly recommend the World Heritage Of UNESCO, a site which will travel you from the Egypt Pyramids to the Great Wall Of China featuring panoramic views with the possibility of rotating them all around 360°. In order to see this panorama of vision you need the Quick Time viewer. In case you don't already have it you may download from this page along with other programs.

Also very important is the " Work of arts Gallery " (accessible from the Main Menu), which contains the extraordinaire sculptures by my father, which I exhibit here honoring his memory. Amongst them there is a maquette of the Athens Acropolis, which was a great success at the Marseilles international exhibition.

In my site you may also find a page about Greek Cooking and my grandmother's recipes. This page is one of the most popular and loved. Prove of its success is the fact that eight of these recipes are introduced in the La Grece.Com site which I really like to thank for their choice.

You will also find a page I have written about the Greek-French Association, as a member of it. This association's goal is the friendship between Greek and French people. There you may find the program and information about its activities. I'd like to add that the President of the Greek-French Association is Mr. Evaggelos Moutsopoulos, professor and member of the Greek Academy.

Besides all these referred so far, I must tell you a few things about the OASIS FRANCOPHONE. It is a tool I might say that can help everyone willing to learn French correctly or for everyone planning to have some after postgraduate courses. All these people can find a lot of qualitative sites about many sciences and other useful information in the first page of my site.

There is another page called the Reader's Corner also accessible from the Main Menu which is nothing more than a private online library containing many important books of philosophy, literature and science like Socrates' Apology written in Greek and French, books written by Mollier and many other.

Through the University Lessons you can attend courses in sound and video from 20 Universities covering a really big amount and variety of science.
The page Francophonie informs you about the issues of French speaking, all around the world acts and contests about the French language.

Another really important part of this website can be accessed from the My Articles menu which contains articles I have written about the history of numbers.

In the first of this series of article I examine the *Pi number*  from a different approach. Shortly using a method of my own, I convert it to a poem, which allows to everyone knowing this poem and remembering it to have always in mind the first 126 digits of the pi number. This method can have many applications as I believe.  The pi number was just the cause of me thinking it.

In another article referring on the *Gold Section*, I examine the mathematical characteristic of the Φ and how this is applied in art.

In the article  *The History of Zero * I explain the adventure of zero until it became acceptable by the people of the West for its mathematical characteristics who all know and acknowledge now.

In the article about  *The Abacus * I refer to its history and offer a few step-by-step examples of its basic arithmetic acts.

In the article  *Arithmetic Bases* I examine the various numerical system as the binary, hexad and many others with many examples.

NEW  In the article about the fractals named  *Fractals* I examine these mathematical objects which give a new approach about geometry and also their multiple applications in various sectors. At the end of this article you have the opportunity to assist a lecture of the professor Benoit Mandelbrot.
In the *Gallery Fractals* you can admire fractured images which i have created based on mathematical equations.

This part of my site is not yet completed and I intend slowly but firmly to enhance it with more articles. However thanks to these articles I have already retold you, my site is recommended by many foreign universities as the French University of Bourgogne and others.

From the My Articles menu you will also find a new text subjected The History of The Olympic Games, an accompaniment to my e-cards. You can alternatively access this page and from this point. In this text there is an overview of the ancient and modern Olympic Games and I pronounce in Greek and French the words spoken by the high priestess at the moment the Olympic flame is lighten, the Olympic hymn and the athletes' vow.

These were the most important points; the OASIS FRANCOPHONE offers many other services such as Search Engines and a peculiar engine called ERIKA, which is about inventions and inventors. Also you will find an Online Dictionary, Software, and the Synthetic Voice program online software developed by the national center of scientific research of France (CNRS). This software turns written word in spoken. For example writing down a sentence and then pressing PARLER you hear the text written by a male or female voice depending on the user settings.

Also available on my site are many Media Files, newspapers, satellite channels and radio live through the WORLD NEWS page, which you can find in the WEB SITE SERVICES.

Hoping that now visiting my site will be easier for all you English spoken friends I wish you a nice tour in it.

Helen Kemiktsis.
